- Forward a receipt or e-wallet screenshot to the bot — it reads the amount and merchant for you.
- It auto-buckets the spend (Needs · Savings shield · Personal) and replies with Undo / Change bucket buttons.
- It catches duplicates — the “same receipt forwarded by both partners” double-count — before it reaches the books.
- PDF statements are redirected to the web importer.
🧠 The AI engine
HoneyMoney runs on a free, multi-provider AI stack — switch engines with one setting, no lock-in:
- Groq — fast hosted Llama models, generous free tier.
- Gemini — Google’s multimodal Flash, reads receipt images out of the box.Active
- Ollama — fully local, private, offline models on your own machine.
💬 Connect Telegram
- Open the HoneyMoney bot in Telegram.
- Send /start — you’ll get “🍯 Welcome to HoneyMoney! You’re linked.”
- Forward a receipt photo — within seconds: “✅ Logged …” with Undo / Change bucket.

🛠️ Self-hosting / admin
Running your own instance? Create the bot with BotFather, set the token and webhook secret, and register the webhook. Full step-by-step in docs/TELEGRAM_SETUP.md.
📱 Install & remove the app
Install adds HoneyMoney to your home screen — no app store (Menu → Install app, or the banner). To remove it, uninstall like any app: on Android long-press the icon → Uninstall. Removing the app does not delete your account — manage or delete your account.
🍎 Install on iPhone / iPad
- 1Tap the Share button in the Safari toolbar
- 2Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”
- 3Tap “Add” — HoneyMoney lands on your home screen and opens full-screen, just like an app.
